Victoria Nansumba, aged 18 years, emailed us this message:

Have just completed my advanced level,form 6 this year 2007.lam suppossed to join the university for a degree course in Procurement and logistics,having passed very well with 20 points as a qualification for intrance to the university and the mentioned course. lts unfortunent,that our Gorvernment is not in position to sponsor me to the university and for that course.

This means that ,unless lam helped,by kind people or organisations,l will not be in position to undergo for the course mentioned.
The purpose of this communication,is to request you help me with advice or any information or help that may enable me continue for the above studies. Your help ,will not only benefit me ,but will also benefit my mother,who is a widow and cannot help me otherwise,as well as the entire family.

    ummm . . . Do you know this person? I work in the automotive industry and get requests for 100s of spark plugs at a time to please and kindly send to somewhere Africa . . . would you really donate money to a request like this? Not me. Not without a lot of verification!

      I would not have posted it without knowing the person and having a second party also make contact. I hear what you are saying and ask this what type of verification do you need?

        You can send this type of request to CARE, USAID, Peace- or Americorps, or any number of other organizations in the position to help in such situations. They can also verify her position and whether or not she can be helped and how.

        Asking a bunch of strangers on Tribe for help is iffy at best, especially when there are hundreds of "email me your bank account so l can wire the millions your oh-so-distant-relative-you-never-knew-about-in-Zimbabwe" emails floating about nowadays.
